Happy Holidays!

December 15th, 2010

In 2010 we made great strides as a company, we added many new services and improved our network infrastructure all in an effort to provide the best service to our clients.

Our spam filtration service is helping keep the inbox clean of many companies in the area, to date we have blocked 16,467,452 emails. Our systems on average receives just under 30,000 emails a day, with only 500-600 or so being legitimate. $10.99 a month covers your whole company, so if you are not protecting your company with our system we encourage you to with a 60 day risk free trial.

We have been very busy this year helping local companies promote themselves with new websites and social media services. Take a look at some of the great sites launched in 2010 including our own:

We provide complete website design and hosting services on our state of the art network for prices a small business can actually afford.

Have you been to a Janesville Jets game this season? Many of you have noticed the free WiFi access at the rink, one of many large scale wireless projects we have been involved in. We have installed a large wireless network at Road Ranger Stadium in Rockford home of the RiverHawks, providing wireless access throughout the entire stadium for both fans and staff. We also provided temporary free WiFi internet for the Rock Regional Business Expo covering the e ntire 50,000 sq foot facility with internet for vendors and patrons alike. (All in one day, with no harm to the facility) Our Downtown Janesville WiFi Project currently has an average of 10-20 people on it per day. We will be expanding coverage come spring as we now have contracts with both Charter and TDS.

We could go on and on with all the great things that have happened in 2010 but we just want to wish you and your families a very safe and happy holiday season and we look forward to helping your business grow in 2011.

Recent Testimonials

“As with many small businesses today our computer system was crucial to the working of our business, however, like so many other businesses we were constantly trying to find ways to keep our bottom line down and maintenance of our computer systems was low on the priority list.

When we decided to get professional help, someone mentioned Small Business Technology Solutions.  I can’t believe the difference.  Their rates are reasonable, the service is great, I call and they are at the office within a couple of hours.  They are diligent, if there is a problem that takes some time or is not easy to fix they will stay on it until complete.

I can say without a doubt that I would recommend Small Business Technology Solutions to anyone in need of computer solutions.”

“Having reliable access to the internet is a must for anyone who works in the press box at Road Ranger Stadium – me, other broadcasters, our local media and press-box staff. The internet in the press box had long been prone to slowdowns and sometimes a complete collapse. Our broadcast relies heavily on new media, so when I can’t access scores or listener email, my job becomes immeasurably more difficult.

I met Robert and Mike at a Forward Janesville event and was impressed by not merely their knowledge and enthusiasm, but by the fact that they can translate the tech jargon into English for the layman without dumbing it down. They clearly articulated what they proposed, in terms of equipment, operation, bandwidth capability and results.

Small Business Technology Solutions proposed not just a significant upgrade in the quality of our press box wireless access, but full wireless access throughout the stadium – for media, players and fans – something that our ownership had billed as a feature of the new stadium prior to its construction, but something we had yet to deliver on.

Robert and Mike toured the entire stadium to lay out the logistics of the task. Professional athletes are notoriously prone to complain about the slightest thing. Our players, who to a man bring laptops or iPods to the clubhouse, were happy about the ability to check scores, surf the web or download music at their lockers. Our tech-savvy fans had a new element to take advantage of when in the stadium.

From my perspective, our partnership with Mike and Robert has been an unqualified success.”

Wireless Internet touted for downtown Janesville

March 19th, 2010

By JIM LEUTE ( Contact )   Friday, March 19, 2010 – Thanks to the Janesville Gazette

Robert Novak IIIJANESVILLE — Robert Novak III thinks Janesville is a good community.

But, he said, it could use another checkmark next to the attributes that support quality of life.

That’s why Novak and his young Janesville company are spearheading an effort to bring free community wireless Internet access to the downtown area.

With a partner, Novak owns Small Business Technology Solutions, a technical service provider for homes, businesses and nonprofits. The company also has an office in Kenosha.

“I came up with this idea one day when I was sitting in Courthouse Park on Main Street just enjoying the day,” said Novak, who graduated from UW-Whitewater with a business degree with an emphasis in information technology infrastructure.

“I was just thinking about what can be done to drive more traffic to the downtown area and bring back the luster it once had. Then it hit me: How great would it be if the entire area was covered in free WiFi?”

Small Business Technology Solutions will donate the labor and equipment for the project, which Novak said could approach $10,000.

The company will ask downtown businesses to host small access points and donate a small portion of their high-speed Internet to create the network. In exchange, the businesses will get an ad on the network.

Donations to offset hardware costs will be accepted.

Novak, who lives in Janesville, said the project has two goals.

“The first is obviously to give patrons another reason to go downtown, enjoy all it has to offer and visit the local businesses,” he said. “The second is that all the ads shown on the network will target those people within walking distance of the business displaying the ad.”

Novak said he has met with city and downtown officials, and the response has been favorable.

“I think it’s a great idea, a real no-brainer,” said Laurie Huml Eckert, a vice president at Forward Janesville. “Robert and his company have been very supportive of the community and they’re real go-getters.”

Novak hopes to have the network off the ground in the Main and Milwaukee streets area when the farmers market opens for the season.

“We’ll grow from there,” he said.

“We are doing this to add one more check in the good column of all Janesville has to offer,” Novak said. “We want to show the community our company is here to stay and want to see this community succeed by giving back in the best way we know how.”

Downtown Janesville Wireless Project

March 15th, 2010

As you might have been hearing over the airwaves and through the grapevine, we are working on a project to implement free community wireless access in the Downtown Janesville area. I came up with this idea one day when I was sitting in courthouse park on Main St. just enjoying the day. I was just thinking about what can be done to drive more traffic to the downtown area, and bring back the luster it once had. Then it hit me…how great would it be if the entire area was covered in free WiFi? Now it is not the solution for everything, but maybe a bump in the right direction. So started my quest…

I have meet with the City of Janesville , Forward Janesville, the Downtown Development Committee, Janesville Area Convention & Visitors Bureau, various media outlets and now the wonderful people involved with the Janesville Mile. Our two projects seem to go hand in hand and we are excited to be working with them. This project is going to be supported by the community for the community. Here at Small Business Technology Solutions we will be donating all of the install labor and equipment for the entire project. We will be asking the local businesses located on or around the downtown area to allow us to put a small access point in their establishments and borrow a small portion of their high speed internet; in exchange for an Ad on the network. The project has two main goals and benefits for the local community, the first is obviously give patrons another reason to go downtown, enjoy all it has to offer and visit the local businesses. The second is that all the ads shown on the network will target those people within walking distance of the business displaying the ad. Being a business owner would it not be great to have someone see your lunch special on the screen and look up to see your business right down the street?

So why are we doing this and what are we asking for? Those are questions are simple; we are doing this to add one more check in the good column of all Janesville has to offer. We want to show the community our company is here to stay and want to see this community succeed by giving back in the best way we know how. So what are we asking for? The support of the community in this project; something like this cannot succeed if the people and businesses it is looking to help do not stand behind it. The equipment costs for the project will be huge and of course all donations will also gladly be accepted.

If you are a business in the downtown area who would be interested in having an access point located in your establishment, and donating a small portion of your high speed internet please contact me (Robert)  at 608-554-4858. This will only happen if we all work together. Please spread the word, tell everyone what we are trying to do. For more information or to help out feel free to give me a call or drop me an email at robert@seeus4it.com.

More information to come…please stay tuned!
