New Web Servers Online

June 28th, 2010

We have just completed our move to our new fully virtualized web servers!

Our new web servers are now located in Washington DC; the DC area has one of the highest concentrations of fiber connectivity in the US and provides us with multiple network options and world class performance. The facility was designed to full Tier IV standards and provides multiple redundant power connections, in addition to the three 2-megawatt generators and eight 750 kVA redundant UPS systems. It includes three on-site, 600-ton cooling towers, fully meeting N+1 cooling requirements. The facility uses Proximity Security Badge Access to authorize movement around the building. It also has 24/7 video surveillance, enabling complete peace-of-mind that the datacenter, our servers, and your data, is secure. Our Washington DC Data Center, has network bandwidth of over 20 Gigabits per second. Supported by state-of-the-art, industry-leading technology from Cisco and Foundry, this network is designed to be fault tolerant.

Our servers are fully virtualized among many physical servers, providing the highest level of reliability and performance. This move was done to provide our customers with the best environment to host their websites, providing world class service at an affordable price. Janesville Small Business Council – Live Stream

March 9th, 2010

Forward Janesville’s Small Business Council has been absolutely delighted with the member participation in its monthly Small Business Listening Sessions.  Attendee, Tawnya Hagen commented, “I will be opening All Season Runner (ASR) in downtown Janesville this month, and I love all the positive energy generated at the Small Business Listening Sessions.  I feel welcomed by the business community as I attempt to unite Janesville through running and staying active.  I feel confident that this group will support my efforts to thrive and grow in this community, so there will be no reason to travel to Madison or Rockford for a specialty running store.”

Guest speakers Vic Grassman, City of Janesville Economic Development Specialist and John Beckord, President of Forward Janesville will be featured at the March 11th Listening Session.  They are two of the five Rock County 5.0 partners, and they will provide an overview of the initiative and explain how it has been developed to revitalize and renew our area’s economy.  The participants at the February Listening Session were eager to learn more about the exciting initiative and to inquire about how they might assist in its promotion.

We encourage you to attend:  Thursday, March 11, 2010, in Forward Janesville’s large conference room at 14 S. Jackson Street.  The session is slated to begin at 7:30am and runs for approximately one hour.  A light breakfast will be provided by Cakes by Sheila.  If you cannot make it Thursday morning, watch the live stream by visiting http://forwardjvl.seeus4it.com/small-business-council/ courtesy of Small Business Technology Solutions.

This event will be held every 2nd Thursday, and it’s open to the public.  If you’re a small business person looking for advice, suggestions, resources or simply an ear, please join us.

For more information, please contact Laurie Huml Eckert, 608-757-3160 or lauriehe@forwardjanesville.com.
